Complaint Handling Protocol

Should you have a complaint about your Temple Insurance Company policy, please follow the protocol below:

The first step is to discuss your complaint with your broker. Explain your concerns, listen and ask questions. Have details and papers ready, including your policy number and claim number. Explain your circumstances and how you would like the matter resolved.

If you are still dissatisfied with the response to your complaint, you may contact the Temple Insurance Company Complaints Officer (in writing to Complaints Officer, Temple Insurance Company, 390 Bay Street, 22nd Floor, Toronto, Ontario, M5H 2Y2, or by email to complaintsofficer@templeins.com or by phone at 416-364-2851 or toll-free at 1-877-364-2851).

The Complaints Officer will review your concerns to ensure he has a full and proper understanding of your position. He will then investigate the situation fully, keeping you informed along the way and will notify you promptly of the proposed resolution.

If, in due course, you feel we have not resolved your complaint satisfactorily you may contact the General Insurance OmbudService (GIO), which assists in the resolution of conflicts between insurance customers and their insurance companies. The contact information for the GIO is:
